“This broke the record set in 2008 of 54,000,” said BOE’s Mike West.

With just one day left to vote early in person, people are making sure they have a say in America’s future.

Lines were long Saturday and some people told 19 News they waited more than an hour to vote.

“This tells us that people are very excited about voting,” West said. “They are very passionate about voting and can’t wait to get here and make their voices heard.”

West says they added more parking options To make the voting experience more seamless.

To vote in person, you must have a valid ID document.

Some examples are an Ohio driver’s license, passport, or military ID.

More than 170,000 people have requested a mail ballot and they are running out of time to submit their ballots.

“Monday is the postmark deadline,” West said. “So if you go on a Monday, go early in the day to make sure it’s postmarked.”

Don’t forget if you can’t vote on Sunday. You cannot vote early on Monday.

But don’t worry, you can always vote on election day, Tuesday.

“We think it’s going to be very busy,” West said. “We expect 70 percent or more participation.”
