HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver after hitting a pedestrian in the 2900 block of 8th Avenue in Huntington Friday night.

Dispatchers say Eighth Avenue is closed in both directions in that area.

They said Huntington Police Department officers were looking for a dark-colored sedan that left the scene.

The extent of the victim’s injuries is unknown at this time.

The incident was reported just before 9.30pm. Officials said the road may be closed for a while.
