Dosher Memorial Hospital will hold a drug disposal event

SOUTHPORT, NC (WECT) – A regular drug disposal event has been rescheduled for December.

Dosher Memorial Hospital was forced to postpone Operation Medicine Booth due to road closures following Potential Tropical Cyclone #8. It was originally set for October 2.

To help prevent drug abuse and minimize environmental impacts, the drive-thru helps residents drop off unwanted and expired prescription medications at the front entrance of the hospital without having to leave their vehicle.

The event will take place at the front entrance on December 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dosher will not be able to collect medications outside of these hours and participants will be asked to keep their medications until 8 a.m. or will be directed to other local safe medication disposal sites.

If you have any questions about Operation Medicine Cabinet, call the Dosher Marketing and Community Relations Office at 910-457-3900 or via email.
