Police say Halloween-masked gunman stabbed man in Central Islip

A man sitting in a parked vehicle in Central Islip was stabbed Thursday afternoon by a suspect wearing a “Halloween mask” who opened the driver’s side door and attacked, Suffolk County police said.

The victim was sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked just outside 159 Brightside Boulevard, Suffolk police said in a news release around 4:10 p.m. Thursday. The suspect approached the vehicle and eventually stabbed the man. Police did not identify the victim.

Police did not release additional information about the attack, including a description of the suspect or the type of Halloween mask he was wearing.

Late Thursday, police said the stabbing victim was being treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and the suspect remained at large.

Suffolk police detectives ask anyone with information to contact Team Three at 631-854-8352 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
