Cincinnati PepsiCo terminates production operations, 136 workers will be laid off

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – PepsiCo announced it will cease production operations at its Cincinnati facility shortly after Christmas.

In accordance with PepsiCo’s Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), the Pepsi plant on Sunnybrook Drive will cease production operations effective December 28.

The WARN announcement states that 136 employees will lose their jobs shortly before the new year.

“We are notifying affected employees of other open positions and are actively working to place them in nearby facilities,” PepsiCo wrote in its WARN notice. “All affected employees will receive wages and benefits until their last day of employment with PepsiCo, Inc. All retirement and group insurance benefits to which employees are entitled will be provided in accordance with the terms of applicable employee benefit plans.”

PepsiCo’s notice states that all affected employees were notified on October 28.
