In 2013, pancreatic cancer patient advocacy organizations from around the world came together to discuss working collaboratively to raise global pancreatic cancer awareness and support each other’s efforts. The following year WPCD was introduced to the world.

World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition, PanCAN As a founding member, it officially became operational in 2016 with its annual opening meeting. At the first meeting, 54 organizations representing 24 countries came together with one goal: to create transformational change for everyone affected by pancreatic cancer. Since then, the Coalition has grown to over 100 member organizations from more than 30 countries.
