HURRICANE, Utah — A suspect died after a crash during a chase Wednesday, Hurricane City Police officials said.

According to police, they were called to a retail theft in progress at Lin’s; Here, the suspect threatened the life of an employee by turning the situation into a robbery.

The suspect left the store followed by police teams. The pursuit went east on State Street before continuing north through La Verkin and into Toquerville.

Officers would lose sight of the suspect and find him again when he fell.

According to the police, the suspect was removed from the vehicle and died. Utah Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash. The name of the suspect is not being disclosed at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
