The sentence for 58-year-old Monte Wayne Eckels was announced on October 30 by Judge Gregg R. Rosenbladt.

Eckels’ plea agreement states that if the court accepts it, he will be sentenced to a maximum of 50 years in prison and must pay $150,000 to the victim’s estate.

The document states that the defendant will have to serve at least 70 percent of the sentence before being eligible for parole.

Eckels’ defense hearing will be held on October 29 at 13.30.
