Blackfoot Custodial Program will continue to exist in national parks

Parks Canada and the Blackfoot Confederation have announced a new collaboration.

The Blackfoot Conservation Program will operate along the eastern foothills between Waterton Lakes National Park and the Livingstone Ranges.

Guards will patrol roads and hiking trails.

In addition to establishing a presence in the landscape, they will share stories of the land and culture with park visitors.

Parks Canada says the program is the first of its kind in southern Alberta.
