Four children injured in Barnes County rollover

VALLEY CITY, ND (Valley News Live) – Two teenagers and two 10-year-olds were injured in a rollover near Valley City on Sunday.

The Barnes County Sheriff’s Office said a 2009 Pontiac G6 driven by a 15-year-old from Valley City was traveling westbound on 34th Street SE when it entered the intersection and became airborne. According to an eyewitness account, the vehicle was traveling more than 70 miles per hour at the time. After crossing the intersection and reentering the road, the vehicle left the roadway, rolled over several times and came to rest on its roof in the mud, sheriff’s officials said.

It is said that the four people inside (two 15 years old, two 10 years old) managed to escape. All four were transported to Mercy hospital and later released with minor injuries.

It is said that the driver of the vehicle was fined for careless driving.
