Marc Maron Calls on ‘Comics’ to Drive the ‘New Fascism’

“The anti-woke wing of neo-fascism is driven almost exclusively by comics, my peers,” he wrote, dismissing the idea that motivations (whether for free speech or notoriety) mattered. “They are part of the public face of the fascist political movement that seeks to destroy democratic thought,” he said.

Maron warned that inviting extremists onto popular podcasts only serves to “humanize and normalize fascism,” claiming it “facilitates anti-American sentiment and encourages violent autocracy.”

While he refrained from naming specific comedians or the “fascist” personalities he mentioned, his remarks came as major comic podcasts are a central topic of political discourse.
