BLACK CANYON CITY, AZ (AZAfamily) — A multi-vehicle crash on I-17 near Black Canyon City is causing a traffic backup that lasts for miles.

The southbound lanes were completely closed when the accident occurred.

The backup is approximately 12 miles long as of 4 p.m. Sunday.

DPS says the right lane southbound is now open. The left southbound lane is still closed.

There is no estimated time for when this lane will reopen.

According to DPS, those involved in the accident had minor injuries.
