Gavin Hubbard’s family said he was “kind, wise, funny and loyal”

In the murder case, it was learned that a dealer stabbed the grandfather 40 times in his home due to a dispute over stolen drugs.

Gavin Hubbard, 42, was fatally stabbed at his home in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, on May 19.

The prosecution said that Mr. Hubbard was Tuche Coşkun’s customer and that he robbed him and went to the defendant’s house and killed him.

Ms Coskun, 21, from Enfield, north London, denies murder and assault.

‘Chaotic’ lifestyle

Opening the case at St Albans Crown Court, solicitor Neil Moore said Ms Coskun, of Central Avenue, was supplying heroin and cocaine in the town, but asked the jury not to convict her of being a drug dealer and Mr Hubbard of being a drug dealer. drug user.

“It was part of their lifestyle; it might have been chaotic, but it was their lifestyle,” he said.

The prosecutor said the court heard that Mr Hubbard went to a bar on the evening of May 18 and “confessed to a friend that he had stolen drugs from Coşkun twice, including that day”.

“Mr. Hubbard said he stole the word ‘white and dark,’ meaning crack cocaine and heroin.”

Prosecuting counsel also told the jury that when drugs were stolen, “someone high up in the county administrative chain expected to be paid for them.”

“Coşkun would have a debt to the person who provided these,” he said.

‘I’m dead’

The prosecutor claimed he went to Mr Hubbard’s home with a knife to get the drugs back.

Doorbell video footage shows Ms. Coskun heading towards Mr. Hubbard’s home around 2 a.m. on May 19.

When Mr. Hubbard opened the door, Ms. Coşkun stabbed him nine times in the torso, legs and back, the prosecution said.

While defending himself, he received 30 more stab wounds to his hands and arms.

According to the court, her friend Stacey O’Connor came to her aid and was slightly injured when she tried to restrain Coşkun.

The prosecutor’s office said Hubbard was heard shouting “he killed me, I’m dead.”

He had a wound on his upper thigh that severed his femoral artery and vein before he collapsed in the driveway and bled to death.

The court heard that when the police arrived at around 03:00, Coşkun told the police officer, “I stabbed him, but I didn’t want to kill him.”

The trial continues.
