READ MORE: When will we ‘stand down’? How to prepare for a time change

Daylight saving time ends next Sunday, November 3, at 02:00 local time. Don’t forget to set your clock an hour before bedtime. Standard time will last until March 9, when we “move forward” to daylight saving time.

The change in spring time can disrupt your body clock; Darker mornings and lighter evenings can make it harder to fall asleep. Research shows that there is an increase in heart attack and stroke cases after the time change in March.

To prepare, some people gradually adjust their sleep hours before the change. Getting more sunlight may also help reset your circadian rhythm for better sleep.
