    Real-life TV couple ‘magically aged’ after 14 years together | soaps

    Former hollyoaks actor Emmett J Scanlan celebrated his wife and former co-star Claire Cooper’s birthday with a sweet celebration instagram mail

    Emmett – best known for his role as Brendan Brady on the series. channel 4 soap – wrote that he and the former Jacqui McQueen actor are ‘magically growing old’ together.

    Claire’s birthday also marked a major turning point for the couple; He revealed Claire “flirted” with him 14 years ago before embarking on a romance.

    Sharing a series of couple photos on Instagram, Emmett wrote: ’44 today. The 2nd photo represents the moment I really started to fall in love with her. Despite the handlebar collar, I somehow had the confidence to begin “flirting” with this powerful force. Despite my somewhat “bad boy” reputation at the time, he somehow let me in without defiance.

    Their former co-star Bronagh Waugh, who plays Emmet’s on-screen sister Cheryl Brady, wrote: ‘Awww, I remember that moment when the sparks and banter started flying… magical. Happy birthday Coops! A powerhouse then and an even stronger, brighter, magical Powerhouse now! Look at the beautiful Family you two have created! Sending you all the love, balloons and the Moon!’

    EastEnders’ Danniella Westbrook, who also stars as Trudy Ryan in Hollyoaks, commented: ‘Happy birthday coops, you gorgeous woman xxx.’

    Roxanne Mckee (better known as Hollyoaks’ Louise Summers) added: ‘Happy Birthday to a magical woman with a big heart.’

    The couple married in 2015 and have two children: four-year-old son Ocean and almost two-year-old daughter Fiáin.

    Emmett first appeared in Hollyoaks from 2010 to 2013, while Claire joined the cast in 2006 and left in 2013.

    HE Jacqui McQueen reprized her role for two episodes last December.

    His other screen credits since leaving the series include Strike Back, Scott & Bailey and Amazon’s The Peripheral, while Emmett has also appeared in The Fall, Peaky Blinders, Gangs of London and Fool Me Once.
