If Christians decide to hang out “under the tree,” Blue said, they won’t have to act like others under the tree do.

Blue said that in the scripture where Peter preached, he was writing to Christians who were being rebuked for following Jesus Christ.

“When you start following Jesus, some people are going to have a problem with you,” Blue said.

Blue made three points that make Christians different people who do not live Christ-like lives. The first is that God has chosen his people for a specific purpose and purpose in their lives.

“Thank God for choosing us,” Blue said.

Secondly, Christians are priests, Blue said.

“Jesus gave us access to the inner path,” Blue said. “Not only are you chosen, you are also holy.”

Blue said Christians should be in church every day of the week, not just on Sundays.

Finally, Christians are different because “We are peaceful people, too,” Blue said.

Then he spoke especially to the younger members.

“Don’t let people define you,” Blue said. “You’re not an idiot. You’re not a thug.”

Blue concluded his sermon by encouraging the congregation to be thankful for where God has purchased them and to be thankful for everything God has done in their lives.

Blue: “Do you know who started you on the road this morning?” he said and added that he was happy and thanked God for changing his life.

“God saved me from the darkness,” Blue said.
