After Barnett refused to open the door, police managed to enter the hotel room with the help of hotel management. He locked himself in the room’s bathroom, where officers could hear the shower and toilet flush, according to documents.

Police forced their way in and detained him. Officers saw signs of a struggle and a large amount of blood throughout the room, according to testimony.

“They also observed and secured three knives, two of which appeared to have blood on them,” the documents said.

Barnett was booked into the Henderson County Jail, where he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. He is being held on a bond totaling $82,500.
