Pagosa Springs father and son accused of killing mother arrested

PAGOSA SPRINGS, Colo. (KJCT) – A Southern Colorado father and his teenage son are behind bars for allegedly killing the boy’s mother over the summer.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation announced in a press release Monday that 43-year-old Charles Christopher Martinez and his teenage son, 17-year-old Hevon Martinez, were arrested. Both were jailed on first-degree murder charges. However, the teenager, who is currently jailed on separate charges, will be tried as an adult.

Both are being held at the Archuleta County Detention Center, according to the CBI.

The two are accused of fatally shooting 38-year-old Chrystal Snow on July 2, 2024. Authorities said Snow was shot multiple times and attempted to call 911 just before his injuries turned out to be fatal. He was found dead by Archuleta County Sheriff’s Deputies after responding to an emergency call at 2:20 a.m. when there was no response from the caller, according to authorities.
