Latest US elections: Harris interrupted by protesters during rally; Trump insists he’s ‘not a Nazi’ | US News

Barack Obama is giving up campaigning for Kamala Harris today and this time taking the stage in Philadelphia.

He mocks Donald Trump, saying that he posts on social media “at all hours of the night” and that “when he’s not complaining, he’s trying to sell you something.”

“He wants to sell you a Trump Bible…he couldn’t read a single verse, but he will sell you that Bible,” he adds.

The crowd begins booing before the former president interrupts them.

“Don’t boo, vote,” he says. “Nobody can hear your boos, but they can hear your votes.”

She takes aim at Mr. Trump’s past, asking his supporters if he ever changed a flat tire.

He made the audience laugh by joking, “If a tire bursts, he will pull his driver over.”

Obama calls out comedian’s racist Puerto Rican jokes

Mr. Obama told the crowd that Trump was trying to divide the country to “improve his own chances.”

Speaking of Mr. Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden last night, where many speakers made racist and vulgar remarks, Mr. Obama said: “If somebody doesn’t respect you, if somebody doesn’t see you as equal opportunity citizens in this pursuit of happiness, for the American dream, You shouldn’t vote.”

‘Kamala Harris is ready for duty’

Urging people to vote for Ms. Harris, Obama said he was ready to serve as the US president.

Citing her middle-class background and Mr. Trump’s recent campaign appearance at McDonald’s, he said Ms. Harris actually worked at a fast food restaurant to pay her bills in college.

“He didn’t pretend to work at McDonald’s,” he says.

“If you choose Kamala Harris, she will see you, she will hear you, she will have your back every day.

“He knows what it’s like to struggle, work hard, and look from the outside in.”
