Status hearing set for Peterstown man who pleaded not guilty in child porn distribution case

UNION, W.Va. (WVVA) – A Peterstown man pleaded not guilty to a charge of distribution of child pornography and is free with a status hearing in the case scheduled for Jan. 6.

Ronald Bradley Jr., 38, was charged in June in connection with the distribution of child pornography depicting minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

He has since been charged with the charge and pleaded not guilty during a hearing earlier this month.

In Monroe County Circuit Judge Robert Irons’ trial order, Bradley is allowed to remain free on the $6,000 secured bond he previously posted, but with several modifications, including conditions similar to those for sex offender probation. This means not participating in activities involving children under 18 and not leaving the state, among other restrictions.

The decision stated that discovery evidence will be exchanged by November 7 and pre-trial motions will be submitted by December 7.

According to the criminal complaint, on June 6, Bradley was using the Kik app under the username “happydua32” and chatting with an “undercover” plainclothes police officer.

Bradley sent a photo of a naked young woman and stated in Kik messages that he had engaged in sexually explicit activities with the woman earlier that day.

Members of the West Virginia State Police, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and FBI executed the search warrant that led to Bradley’s arrest.
