Himachal Government makes changes in education system for holistic development of students: CM

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the state government is constantly making changes in the education system to ensure holistic development of students at all levels.

Addressing the annual event at Pinegrove School in Dharampur, Solan on Sunday, Sukhu said, “The main aim of education is to develop the potential of students and turn them into responsible citizens.”

He said the education budget in the state in the 2024-25 fiscal year has been increased by 17 percent compared to last year.

“While English education has started from the first grade in government schools to prepare students for the challenges of the future, Rajiv Gandhi Government Day Residential Schools are also being opened in every assembly constituency for the overall development of the society. students,” he said.

Sukhu said, “Our government is making great efforts to ensure that students are well-educated and sensitive. “In order to ensure that students are sensitive about the environment and water saving, it was decided to install rainwater collection systems and network-connected ‘Rooftop Facilities’ in day and boarding schools.”

The Chief Minister said that the state government has launched the ambitious Dr YS Parmar Vidyarthi Rin Yojana of Rs 200 crore to provide better education to meritorious students of the poor section of the society.

The state government has decided that under this scheme, eligible students who wish to study in vocational courses in educational institutions abroad will be provided with the benefit of the programme.

He said that libraries have been established at the Gram Panchayat level in the state to provide better education and quality reading material to students at the village level.

In the first phase, some 493 libraries are being established. He said that 850 educational institutions of the state have been developed as excellent educational institutions.

Sukhu said that courses such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning and Drone Training have been launched in technical educational institutions to provide better self-employment and employment to the youth as per future demand.

He said that employment fairs and campus interviews are also organized in all educational institutions so that young people can be employed according to their abilities. He said that the state government attaches importance to the health of youth as well as education.

“Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Aahar Yojana has started providing nutritious food to students at school level. “15,181 children of the state up to the 8th grade benefit from this program,” he said.

The chief minister said that the state government is meeting the education and other expenses of five thousand orphan children under Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana.

He said that the state government is making efforts to provide quality education to all youths in the state close to their homes.
