Baby food sold at CVS in 12 states has been recalled. What to look for?

Perrigo Company recalls baby food sold under the CVS label due to vitamin D levels

Perrigo Company voluntarily recalled 16,500 cans of baby food. According to the Food and Drug AdministrationDue to vitamin D levels being above the maximum allowable levels.

There have been no reports of adverse events attributed to high levels of vitamin D in the recalled product, according to the FDA, as determined through routine testing.

For the vast majority of infants, short-term consumption of the affected product is unlikely to cause adverse health effects. However, according to the FDA, in a small subset of susceptible infants (for example, those with impaired kidney function), consumption of the recalled product has the potential to lead to health complications.

Parents and caregivers who may have purchased the product should look for the following batch codes at the bottom of the package, which include ‘use by’ dates, and contact their healthcare professional if they have any concerns.

The recalled product was shipped to HEB Grocery Company in Texas and CVS stores in the following states:

How do you know if you have a recalled box?

According to the FDA, the recalled formula cans sent to CVS bear the lot code “T11LMYC” and the best buy date “USE BY NOVEMBER 11, 2025.”
