Northern Railways has announced that special crowd management and control measures will be implemented at New Delhi and Anand Vihar railway stations until November 7 in view of the upcoming festive season.

“In anticipation of high passenger volumes during the upcoming Diwali and Chhath festivals, the Delhi Division of Northern Railway has implemented special crowd management and control measures at New Delhi Railway Station and Anand Vihar till November 7,” Northern Railways said in a press release. he said.

A designated waiting area has been set up at New Delhi station (Ajmeri Gate side) and Anand Vihar station circulation area, equipped with additional ticket counters, Automatic Ticket Vending Machines, inquiry counters, ‘Can I Help You’ desk, food services, liquor service. Water and mobile toilets to increase passenger comfort.

The Delhi Railway Division has temporarily closed the direct entry from the Delhi metro pavement to the pedestrian overbridge connecting both stations during the period.

Additionally, some trains such as Bihar Sampark Kranti (12566), Sampoorna Kranti (12394), Vaishali Express (12554) and Purshottam Express (12802) have been temporarily assigned to certain platforms for better crowd control.

Northern Railways has appealed to passengers to arrive at least one hour before the scheduled departure of the train to avoid last-minute congestion and ensure a smooth boarding process.

“Follow the signboards in the circulation area on the Ajmeri Gate side. You can get assistance from the ‘Can I Help You’ counters or from railway staff deployed throughout the area to help facilitate a comfortable journey. We request and thank passengers to comply with these temporary measures. We thank them for their cooperation.” ” he said.
