Twenty years of Strictly Come Dancing… a look back at some of the highlightspublished date: 18:21 British Summer Time 26 October

As a reminder, this year is definitely our 20th anniversary; This means that for two decades we have enjoyed watching celebrities who have been learning tango, samba or salsa rise to 10th place from the judging panel.

There were only eight contestants in the first series and Tess Daly And Bruce Forsyth.

We all have our favorite Strictly moments – here are a few:

Actress Jill Halfpenny and his partner Darren Bennett I made a fast-paced joke I’m Still Standing Next to Elton John Two finales in the series.

The dance sparked a standing ovation from the audience and prompted all four judges to pull out their ’10’ paddles for the first time.

2007: Premiere of Dance-Off

The introduction of the “Dance-Off” episode in the fifth series, in which the bottom two couples perform again to determine who stays and who leaves, added drama and a new dynamic to the elimination process (plus, it meant viewers enjoyed a treat). Definitely the second episode of every week!).

2020: First Gay Couple – Nicola Adams and Katya Jones

The couple definitely made history

Partnership Olympic boxer Nicola Adams And Katya Jones The first same-sex couple in the competition was a big moment for the show; Adams said he wanted a female partner because it was “definitely a time for change.”

The pair only made it to the fourth week before withdrawing from the competition when Jones caught Covid-19.
