Spurs Remember | Tottenham Hotspur

As we enter this Remembrance period the Club will pay tribute to those who lost their lives in armed conflict and show support for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

Our men’s and women’s players will wear specially produced poppy jerseys in our Premier League home matches against Aston Villa (3 November) and Ipswich Town (10 November), as well as in our home WSL matches against West Ham (3 November) and away against Manchester City. (Nov. 8) will be signed by players and auctioned, all to raise funds for the Legion.

For the first time this year, the club will commemorate animals lost in service during our Women’s home match against West Ham United on Sunday 3 November, with a purple poppy wreath laid on the pitch alongside the traditional red poppy wreath. Our men’s home match is against Ipswich Town on Sunday, November 10th.

Since 2006, purple poppies have been a symbol of remembrance for war victims and have helped raise thousands for charities such as Animal Aid, Murphy’s Army, War Horse Memorial and Blue Cross.

As a Club that recognizes and supports the welfare of animals – including our existing work with All Dogs Matter through the Tottenham Hotspaw initiative – the ‘Dog of the Match’ featured in the Ipswich match will be a military working dog.

Red and purple wreaths will be laid by serving members of our Armed Forces Spurs Official Supporters Club before the matches for both men’s and women’s teams.

We will then observe a period of silence during which The Last Post will be played. In both cases, this period of silence will begin and end with the referee’s whistle; Fans entering the stadium at this time may have restricted access to the seating area while silence continues.

Our ever popular Spurs Poppy badges are now available on sale online and for a £6 donation to the Royal British Legion at the Tottenham Experience. Fans will be able to bid on signed poppy jerseys worn during matches. MatchOldShirtproceeds go to the Royal British Legion.

As well as having the chance to bid on signed match-worn jerseys, fans will also be able to enter an online raffle to win a poppy jersey signed by the Men’s First Team squad. You can find more details here.
