Will Trump accept if he loses to Harris? Poll shows how many voters think he won’t do it

A majority of voters think former President Donald Trump will not concede the election if he loses to Vice President Kamala Harris, according to a new poll.

A. latest CNN poll It turned out that voters overwhelmingly believed that the former president would not accept the election results and would not accept them once the results were certified. The poll found that 69 percent believed Trump would not and would not accept the results, while only 30 percent believed he would accept them.

The proportion of voters who said they would not accept it decreased slightly compared to the beginning of this year. In January, a CNN poll While 74 percent of registered voters said they would not concede the election if Trump lost, 25 percent said they would. In June, 72 percent said they would not do this, while 28 percent disagreed.

On the other hand, most voters (73 percent) believed that they would accept the election if Harris lost, while 26 percent said they would not do so.

Although most voters do not think Trump will accept that he lost, most survey respondents say that whoever loses the election should also accept it. While 88 percent of registered voters think losers have an obligation to accept the results and concede the election, 12 percent disagree.

The poll also found that voters are split on whether they can trust the Supreme Court to “make the right decisions” in cases related to the 2024 election. Only 15 percent said they had “a great deal” of trust in the court, while 29 percent said they had “moderate” trust in judges. While 31 percent said they had “some” trust in the court, 25 percent said they did not trust the court at all.

It was also revealed in the same survey that the two candidates were deadlocked. in a head to head race About a week before the elections.

CNN’s pollThe poll, conducted by SSRS and released Friday, found that Harris and Trump had a 47 percent support rating among likely voters. The survey’s findings reflect a survey New York Times/Siena College This dropped on Friday and each candidate received 48 percent support among likely voters.

The CNN poll was conducted Oct. 20-23 among 1,704 registered voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.18 percentage points.

Trump has already laid the groundwork to be accused of “rigging” the election if he loses.

History may one day decide that the most important thing Trump said in the closing days of the 2024 election was what many voters now barely notice: His persistent warnings that this election was rigged against him.

Indeed, as Election Day approaches, Trump is increasingly warning his supporters that he will only lose on November 5 if his political rivals cheat. Such statements have no basis in reality. There was no evidence of serious voter fraud in the 2020 election that Trump lost, and there is no evidence that Trump’s enemies could or will rig that election against him.
