Ten people were displaced as a result of the fire that broke out overnight

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Ten people were displaced following a house fire in Lexington overnight.

The Lexington Fire Department was called to Tanforan Drive just before 2:30 Sunday morning.

Crews arriving at the scene said the fire started on the back porch of the house, but spread inside when they arrived.

The fire was extinguished.

There were five adults and five children in the house when the fire started.

They all escaped from the house unharmed after a teenager told his mother about the flames.

The Red Cross is helping.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
