MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) – A man has been arrested after leaving the scene of a crash early Saturday morning, according to the Murfreesboro Police Department (MPD).

Police said the hit-and-run crash occurred at 2:40 a.m. on East Clark Avenue and involved two vehicles. A vehicle left the scene.

Three power poles were knocked down and a fire hydrant was damaged in the accident. It closed part of E. Clark Boulevard. Crews worked for hours to repair the poles.

MPD reported minor injuries in the crash.

MPD said the driver who fled the scene was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene, failure to report promptly and possession of a handgun while intoxicated.

Police have not released further details about the crash, including the name of the driver who was arrested.
