Chicago White Sox Fans Receive Great News From Commissioner Rob Manfred

It was like that recently reported Chicago White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf is discussing selling the team. While this is good news for many White Sox fans who would like to see the team sold to an owner who would invest more in the roster, it also raises some concerns.

Reinsdorf has been discussing the sale with former major league pitcher Dave Stewart, who has long wanted to bring an organization to Nashville, Tenn. Some fans, however, worry that Stewart could buy the team and move it out of Chicago.

This week, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred did his best to dispel those concerns. Chicago Sun-Times shared a post: transcript From the comments:

“Chicago is an anchor city for us,” Manfred, who was making media rounds ahead of the World Series, said on FS1’s “Breakfast Ball.” “I think the White Sox are in a difficult situation. I think the location of the stadium is challenging, but I believe that things will work out in Chicago and we will continue to work with two teams in Chicago.”

Considering how easy it was for Manfred and other team owners to get their A’s out of Oakland, it’s certainly refreshing to hear that he sees Chicago as a two-team market. In terms of revenue potential, Chicago is a better fit for the league than Nashville. If Nashville had a team, it would make more sense for it to be a new organization born as part of its expansion efforts.

White Sox It is also a founding member of the American League and one of the oldest franchises in sports. It seems hard to imagine them anywhere other than Chicago.
