Trick-or-treat and get into the fall spirit with the whole family at ‘Cavern Bat Fest’

Celebrate this autumn’s spooky season with ‘Cavern Bat Fest’ at Natural Bridge Caverns every weekend in October.

The family-friendly event celebrates both fall and the cave’s favorite local resident, bats!

Activities include a mini hay maze, bat-themed scavenger hunt, live music, and fun photo stops with pumpkins, scarecrows, and fall themes. Plus, get a free ‘AMAZEn’ Ranch Round-Up’ maze pass to don a family-friendly costume.

The fun continues with free trick-or-treating on October 26th and 27th! Be sure to stop by ‘Big Daddy’s Sweets Treats Brew’ to try their new seasonal menu items.

“Cavern Bat Fest not only takes advantage of the gorgeous fall weather and beautiful Texas Hill Country views here,” said Travis Wuest, Vice President of Natural Bridge Caverns. “This is also our opportunity to show our love for some of the hardest workers in our ecosystem: bats! While the Mexican Free-Tailed bat has received much attention, our latest biological survey has shown that we have 11 different bat species that call this area home. “We continue to learn about their needs and how we can continue to provide an environment where they can thrive.”

Discovered by local cave explorers in 1960, Natural Bridge Caverns is the largest cave in Texas and is family-owned and operated. Caves designated State Historic Site, National Natural Landmarkand is listed at: National Register of Historic Places.

People can stay here and enjoy the day with tons of activities, including five different cave tours, a six-story long zip rails and ropes course, an interactive ‘slide’ activity, and great dining and shopping.
