Jaguars Make Game-Changing Roster Moves Before Packers Game

The Jacksonville Jaguars have made some big moves ahead of their Week 8 showdown against the Green Bay Packers.

The Jaguars announced Saturday that inside linebacker Foyesade Oluokun has been removed from the injured reserve list, meaning he will play against the Packers after missing the last seven games.

With Oluokun back in the fold, the Jaguars now have a vocal leader on defense and one of their true impact players on the field. Oluokun will likely reclaim the starting role, though it looks like Ventrell Miller could start alongside him instead of Devin Lloyd.

“But that’s what we’ve been doing since the OTAs. We’ve rotated through that position group and you saw it work in the game, so when Foye comes back we’ll do a rotation,” Jaguars defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen said. “Those guys are going to continue to play. Ventrell has definitely earned snaps. So he’s going to play in the rotation and everything will be fine.”

Jacksonville also announced that Cam Robinson has cleared the concussion protocol and has no game status, meaning he is ready to play after missing all but five games last week.

The Jaguars also promoted running back Jake Funk and linebacker Joe Gaziano to the practice squad’s active roster.

“He’s a tough guy, a strong player, a really good running defender, a good passer. He excels in the running game. Then as a runner, as a force, we run more with power and then we can step aside and move,” Nielsen said of Gaziano.

“Our plan is to get him a few more snaps this week and see how that goes. But Gaz, the background of that player, he’s solid, you know exactly where he’s going to be. You know how hard he’s going to play and that’s important too. What do you like about that guy?”

Finally, the Jaguars downgraded Andrew Wingard to questionable and his return looks set for next week.
