A man has been charged with murdering a 16-year-old boy in north London.

Francie McCarthy, of Tufnell Park, will appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

Metropolitan Police He said McCarthy, 21, was accused of murdering Deonte Mowatt-Slater, who was stabbed to death.

Deonte was found injured in Courtauld Road, Islington, just after midnight on Tuesday, October 22.

Authorities stated that the young man died at the scene.

Deonte’s family continues to be supported by specially trained police officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, who is leading the investigation, said the Met Police’s “thoughts are with Deonte’s family at this extremely difficult time”.

Investigations are ongoing and local police officers “continue to patrol the area,” he added.
