WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A 35-year-old Wichita man faces nearly 17 years in prison after being convicted of murder in the fatal stabbing of 43-year-old Lonnie Hunter in April.

A judge sentenced Todd Angevine to 200 months (16 years and eight months) in prison after he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder last month, the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office said.

Wichita police said The violent crime for which Angevine was sentenced to years in prison occurred in the early morning hours of April 7. Police said Hunter was walking with a group before encountering a man identified as Angevine. An ensuing argument led to Hunter being stabbed multiple times, police said. The 43-year-old man died at the scene.
