Park Ridge crime: Police say a man was abducted from his driveway on Northwest Highway near Northwest Park

PARK RIDGE, Illinois (Wales) — A man was carjacked while sitting in his vehicle in the northern suburbs, police said.

The crime occurred around 8:59 a.m. Sunday at a home across from Northwest Park, near Glenview Boulevard and Northwest Highway.

The man was in a gold 2005 Toyota Sienna minivan when the suspect opened his door and demanded the vehicle.

The victim refused, and as the suspect drove away from the driveway, the victim called 911, according to Park Ridge police.

A short time later, a “physical altercation” occurred between the suspect and the victim.

During the argument, the victim got into the van and drove southeast on Northwest Hwy.

The injured person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect was wearing a red T-shirt with white stripes and a black hat. It is stated that he is approximately 30-40 years old, approximately 1.70 tall and of slim build.
