Two students were hospitalized after campus shuttle bus collided with bus 179 at the Lee Wee Nam Library bus stop at Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

In response to questions MotherhoodPolice and the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) said they were notified of the incident on Nanyang Road at around 10.15am on October 22.

Crash photos showed a large hole in the side of Red Campus Rider near North Spine.

In another photo published on the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu, it was seen that the floor of the bus was full of broken glass pieces.

A student from Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, who wished to remain anonymous, was on the bus when the accident occurred.

The student said that most of the students had just gotten off at the Lee Wee Nam Library bus stop, so the bus had about half the original number of passengers when it was about to leave.

“The red bus collided with bus 179 as it was about to leave,” he added.

“I heard a scream when the glass broke, but most of it was pretty calm and then we all got out immediately.”

Another student, Cheryl Tan, was on a different bus but got off at the same stop.said Motherhood what he sees Police and ambulance are at the scene.

He saw the police emptying the contents of a bag onto the trash can.

The two female students, both 20 years old, were consciously transported to Ng Teng Fong hospital.

A 67-year-old male bus driver is assisting with investigations.

Police investigations are ongoing.

NTU and SMRT notifications

In response to questions MotherhoodSMRT Buses Deputy General Manager Vincent Gay said no injuries were reported among passengers on bus service 179.

He said bus 179 was stationary when the NTU bus collided.

All 30 passengers were safely transferred to another bus to continue their journey, the official added.

An NTU spokesman said the school was in contact with injured students who were receiving outpatient treatment.

The spokesman said that the issue was also reported to the traffic police.
