Vikings star LT Christian Darrisow left Rams game with leg injury

Vikings star left tackle Christian Darrisow left Thursday night’s game against the Rams with what appears to be a potentially serious leg injury. He was rolled by a defender while blocking late in the second quarter. Darrisow was eliminated by the team shortly after halftime.

There were only 35 seconds left in the half when the Vikings took possession, but there wasn’t enough room to take a knee at their own 3-yard line. So on the play in which Darrisow was injured, they turned the ball over to Aaron Jones.

The Amazon Prime Video broadcast showed Darrisow remaining on the field at SoFi Stadium for a moment, with coaches staring at him and teammates kneeling nearby. He was later seen limping very carefully to the locker room with the help of medical staff.

If it is a serious injury to Darrisow, it would be a devastating loss for the Vikings. He has been one of the best tackles in football this year, playing at an All-Pro level while protecting Sam Darnold’s blindside. He has been extremely consistent as a dominant force in both pass protection and run blocking for the Vikings over the past few years.

Darrisow, 25, signed a four-year extension worth up to $113 million this offseason. The 23rd overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft is entering his fourth season.

Senior David Quessenberry is the Vikings’ left tackle.
