NFL Experts Monday Night Clash vs. Prefers Steelers Ahead of Giants Game

There’s no such thing as a dunk victory for any NFL team, but experts say the Pittsburgh Steelers’ win over the New York Giants is close to a sure thing.

According to NFLPickWatch.com, Only 3% support Giants winning (From 202 registered elections). 3% were tied for the lowest draft pick in Week 8 (Cleveland) and just under 4% picked the Panthers.

Pittsburgh has won three of its last five meetings with New York. The last time the two met was on September 14, 2020, with the Steelers winning 24-16. Considering the numbers, this upcoming conflict may seem one-sided.

The Steelers (5-2), in addition to being among the league’s best teams, also have the second-fewest points allowed in the NFL at 14.1 points. won points in the league.

The Giants (2-5) have struggled to find a consistent rhythm offensively and are unlikely to end their recent losing streak. The Giants have won two of their seven away games this season.

Another worrying statistic for the Giants is that they are 0-7 in Monday night games with Daniel Jones at the wheel.

On a positive note, the Giants are 2-1 on the road this season. Although they have yet to win a game at MetLife Stadium, New York has shown that the opposing team has a better performance at home. And Jones has played much better away, posting a passing rating of 106.7 compared to 63.2 at home and scoring six away goals despite no passes at home.

In the quarterback battle against the Steelers, Jones became the only man with more than two TD passes and a 100-plus rating in three road games this season. Combine Jones’ better performance on the road with rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers and he has a chance, no matter how slim, to pull off an upset.

Nabers had a season low with four passing touchdowns, largely due to his return from a concussion that caused him to miss two games in week four. Before the injury, Nabers was getting plenty of looks from Jones, with 45 targets.

What can the Giants expect from the Steelers?

Assuming the Giants are a little more competitive in week eight, the defense will need to make up for any shortcomings they may have on offense. They need to have all their ducks in a row before going up against the Steelers’ revamped offense.

Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson made his first start of the season last week against the New York Jets and completed 16 of 26 passes for 266 yards and two touchdowns. In addition to Wilson, the Giants need to be prepared for Justin Fields to step on the scene.

Besides the quarterback duel, the Giants also need to include one of the best pass rushers in the league in inside linebacker TJ Watt. Watt had 19 sacks last year and 4.5 sacks this season.

When the Steelers host a game on Monday night, it normally favors them heavily. Pittsburgh is on a 21-game winning streak and hasn’t lost a Monday night home game since 1991.
