Images show the extent of Israel’s attack on two secret Iranian bases

Israel’s retaliatory attack Iran has damaged at least two secret military bases that allegedly helped produce the missiles Tehran used in its attacks on the Jewish state earlier this year, satellite images show.

Photos from Planet Labs show major damage to both Parchin and Khojir military bases southeast of Tehran, according to an Associated Press analysis.

The Albright Institute for Science and International Security identified the destroyed Parchin building as the “Taleghan 2” facility, where Iran allegedly once conducted explosive tests on uranium cores.

It remains unclear whether any equipment linked to the nuclear program remains at Parchin after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) moved to access the facility in 2011.

Satellite photos also show obvious damage to at least two buildings at the Hojir base, where experts warn of a secret underground tunnel facility housing some of Iran’s missile production facilities.

Burnt areas were also seen near the Tange Bijar natural gas production field in Ilam, one of three provinces confirmed by Iran to have been hit in the attack, but it is unclear whether the damage was a result of the Israeli attack.

The Jewish state announced that it refrained from attacking any Iranian oil and nuclear facilities. Warnings from the USA and Gulf states have said such an attack would likely trigger an all-out war in the Middle East.

IAEA chief Rafael Mariano Grossi confirmed that “Iran’s nuclear facilities were not affected” by Friday’s attack.

Israeli officials, as well as Parchin and Khojir, said they struck several warehouses and buildings that Iran used to build the ballistic missile arsenal it used to attack Israel earlier this month and in April.

Tehran said the Israeli attack was concentrated around Ilam, as well as Khuzestan and Tehran provinces.

While Iranian officials said that four soldiers were killed in the attack, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned that his country would retaliate against Israel.
