Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants will open its Avon location on November 4

Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants, a food and wine-centric lifestyle brand, announced the opening of its seventh Ohio-area location in Avon on Nov. 4, according to a press release.

The new restaurant is located at 35351 Chester Road.

Cooper’s Hawk is an award-winning winery, restaurant, artisan market and Napa-style tasting room concept headquartered in Countryside, Illinois, the statement said.

The company was founded in 2005 by CEO Tim McEnery.

Cooper’s Hawk was built on McEnery’s passionate belief that food and wine have the power to create lasting connections, according to the release.

Its restaurants are home to more than 300,000 Wine Club Members who enjoy limited-edition Wines of the Month, unique travel and dining experiences, and many other benefits, the statement said.

According to the release, the Avon culinary team is led by Kevin Cassetto, who works closely with Executive Chef Matt McMillin to ensure the highest level of quality and presentation while redefining the modern casual dining experience.

The contemporary American menu is full of international flavors, and each dish on the menu is listed with a box number, directing guests to the perfect wine pairing of their selection, the statement said.

Cooper’s Hawk offers a variety of lunch, brunch, Happy Hour and dinner options, as well as a special gluten-free menu, a menu for teens, takeout and catering.

Popular dishes include:

• Crispy Brussels Sprouts — Cashews, mint, Sweet Tai Chili, Sesame-Sriracha Aioli

• Medallion Trio — Horseradish, bleu cheese and parmesan crusted filet medallions, Mary’s potatoes, asparagus

• Soy Ginger Atlantic Salmon — Wasabi butter puree, Asian kale

• Gnocchi Carbonara — Pancetta, chicken, sage, peas, parmesan garlic cream sauce

• Drunken Shrimp — Bacon-wrapped shrimp, Tequila lime butter sauce, fresh guacamole

According to the release, the winery has received more than 500 wine awards; imports grapes from the best vineyards around the world and produces more than 40 varieties at its winery in Woodridge, Illinois.

Crafted to please different palates, Cooper’s Hawk wines include accessible selections for those new to the wine world, as well as complex and full-bodied options for more experienced drinkers, the statement said.

Guests can also choose from craft cocktails and sangrias made with Cooper’s Hawk wine.

The restaurant’s design evokes “Modern Craftsman” style and takes inspiration and cues from Ohio landscapes.

The sloping roof detail creates a dramatic entryway that evokes airiness that carries over to the interior of the space.

In a distinctly local tribute, the new space will feature an original artwork designed by Ohio artist Joe Girandola.

In the statements, it was stated that the mural titled “Winery Table” was created entirely from duct tape and was a nod to Avon being described as the “duct tape capital of the world”.

This location features a large covered dining area that can seat up to 300 guests and a covered patio that can seat an additional 44 people.

The dining room features a U-cabinet feature wall and displayed Cooper’s Hawk wine bottles, creating a nook framed by vertical wood slats to highlight wine art.

Many of the lighting fixtures and finishes in the space are heavily textured, evoking a sense of craftsmanship paired with natural and organic tones to create a very warm and inviting atmosphere, the statement said.

The venue also hosts a flexible private dining area for up to 48 people, which can be divided by a sliding wall creating two smaller areas for up to 24 people each.

Like every Cooper’s Hawk location, there is a Napa-style tasting room and retail space at the front of the restaurant.

Cooper’s Hawk will be open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and will be closed on Sundays.
