5 people hospitalized after Winnebago shooting

CORPUS CHRISTI, Tx – CCPD says at 1:53 a.m. Sunday, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Winnebago Street on a call of a shooting with injuries.

When police teams arrived at the scene, they found a person shot with multiple bullets. The injured were taken to local hospitals.

Upon investigation by the police, it was determined that there was a large party where the fight broke out. At one point several people began firing their weapons.

Police determined that a total of 5 people were shot with a firearm. A 19-year-old Hispanic male, a 21-year-old black male, an 18-year-old Hispanic male, a 19-year-old Hispanic male, and a 23-year-old Hispanic male.

Many weapons were found at the scene and seized.

Officers do not believe this was a random act of violence because the people involved knew each other.
