SOUTH POINT, Ohio (WSAZ) – Jessica Dean spent most Sundays with Bill Christian at Solida Baptist Church, where she played the piano during morning worship.

Bill Christian stabbedAccording to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, allegedly by the parent of a student Thursday afternoon while working as the South Point Principal.

“Bill means a lot to me. He inspired me a lot and brought me closer to God and did a lot of great work with the church,” Dean said.

Dean is still trying to wrap his mind around the fact that something like this could happen.

“Honestly, I didn’t know what to do. I immediately started crying. ‘Oh my God, why Bill Christian?’ “I thought,” “This is traumatic,” Dean said.

Dean says the rest of the church community is suffering along with him, sending their thoughts and prayers for a full recovery.

“They are devastated. They, like all of us, were devastated. We invite you all to keep us in your thoughts and prayers…we need it,” Dean said.
