CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A driver died when he left the road and crashed into a tree in Chesapeake Thursday morning, according to Chesapeake police.

When officers arrived at the intersection of Bruce Road and Peppercorn Drive, they determined that the driver, an adult male, “had left the roadway and struck a tree.”

Police said the cause of the crash was unknown and there were no signs of foul play. The investigation into the accident continues.
