Three people charged over Liam Payne’s death

Argentinian authorities say three people have been charged in connection with the death of One Direction star Liam Payne.

The singer died on October 16 after falling from the third-floor balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires.

According to the statement of the National Penitentiary and Penitentiary Institution, a person accompanying the artist was charged with abandoning a person, resulting in death, and supplying and facilitating drugs.

A hotel employee and a third person were also charged with supplying drugs. The names of none of those arrested were disclosed.

The prosecutor’s office added that it reviewed more than 800 hours of video footage from security cameras at the hotel and on public roads and took dozens of statements from hotel staff, family members, friends and medical professionals.
