Authorities confirmed that a minibus crashed into the gas meter, causing a fire in the house.

The driver of the minibus was identified but fled the scene. Harford County police are trying to find the driver.

The driver’s reason for crashing into the house is unknown. The owner of the house was not at home at the time of the fire.

Everyone in the neighborhood who was initially evacuated returned to their homes.

One of the owner’s dogs died as a result of the fire. The other is under the care of emergency veterinary services.

A fire Wednesday night caused extensive damage to a home in Bel Air, according to the Harford County Fire Department.

Authorities stated that the source of the fire was a natural gas line.

According to photos taken at the scene by the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, the house appears to be a shell unto itself.

As the fire grew, neighbors evacuated their homes. No injuries were reported.

The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company and volunteer firefighters from surrounding companies are on scene.

Authorities reported that the fire was under control.
