Matric exams enter the second week

Monday marks the start of the second week of matric exams

Terence Khala from the department said there were no major problems other than 319 students who were unable to access the examination center in the Kariega district in the Eastern Cape due to flooding.

“The Ministry of Basic Education sent a message of gratitude to everyone who contributed to the implementation of the exam.

The department is indebted to SAPS for helping to transport some NSC candidates stranded by floods in the Eastern Cape.

The students were transported safely to SAPS Nyala and were able to sit their exams on time,” Khala said.

“On Monday at 9 am, candidates will take the English Paper 1 (HL, FAL, SAL) exam. “The examination system will once again operate at full capacity as the written subjects are taken by the majority of Grade 12 students.”

Khala urged all candidates to remain committed to a cheating-free exam.

He also called on officers to be careful while performing their duties.
