Evacuations continue in Ocean County as wildfire threatens uncontrolled structures

People are being evacuated in Ocean County as the fire increases in intensity and threatens buildings.

Officials with the New Jersey Forest Fire Service announced a wildfire broke out in Jackson Township just before 2 p.m. Wednesday.

They posted the information on social media, saying South Stump Road in Jackson Township was closed, 15 structures were evacuated and 25 structures were threatened.

They also said that many acres of land were burned and the fire could not be controlled.

While many teams were dispatched to the fire, the cause is being investigated.

The public is asked to stay away from the area.
