What You Need to Know About the Final Season of ‘Yellowstone’

The long awaited return SaritasAmerica’s most-watched entertainment TV show is finally here: Season 5, Episode 2 will air on Sunday, November 10 at 8 PM ET on Paramount Network and 10 PM ET on CBS. (The series won’t air on Paramount+, but you can watch the prequels 1883 And 1923 There.)

We last saw Duttons of Montana on January 1, 2023, when the last episode of the first half of Season 5 aired. Writers’ and actors’ strikes in 2023, as well as disagreements with 69-year-old star Kevin Costner over filming, brought production on the second half of Season 5 to a halt. But in the end – yay! – The Duttons (or most of them) are returning to our small screens to play the final six episodes of the series.

Are you ready to return to the farm on November 10? Here’s a rundown of where we leave things in 2023, and everything we know so far about the future.

Here’s where we stay

5. In Season 1, patriarch John Dutton (Costner) is sworn in as governor of Montana and begins making big moves to protect the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch from his enemies. But Market Equities, the real estate company down the line from the farm, eventually calls in reinforcements to crush the Duttons. This season, tempestuous girl Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), often cited as the show’s most popular character ahead of Costner, finds herself pitted against Market Equities president Caroline Warner (Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver, 77), furthering their already adversarial relationship. It also exacerbates it. Meanwhile, her son Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes), who moved away from the farm to prioritize his own family, lost his baby in a car accident, swerved to escape the bison, and finds himself drawn back into the Dutton drama. In a similar story, John’s adopted son Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) becomes close to Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri), a ruthless lawyer from Market Equities who cunningly manipulates Jamie against her clan. This adds to ongoing tensions in the family, especially between Beth and Jamie, whose relationship has long been fraught with pain and betrayal. The half-season was a slow-burning cliffhanger that pitted Jamie against Beth and John against Jamie.
