Plane crashed near Falcon Field in Mesa

PHOENIX — A plane crashed near Falcon Field and struck a vehicle in Mesa Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the crash involving a Honda HA-420 jet occurred at 4:40 p.m. near Greenfield and McKellips roads.

The FAA added that there were five people on board and their condition was not immediately known.

Falcon Field is located between Greenfield, Higley, McDowell and McKellips roads in northeast Mesa.

It houses more than 800 aircraft and has been in operation since 1941.
