Voters Experience Mixed Emotions on Election Day

WASHINGTON (Gray DC) – As Election Day approaches in the nation’s capital, both locals and visitors near the White House said they have mixed feelings about the big day.

“I feel very nervous,” said Emily Garrison, visiting from New York.

“The risks seemed very high to me. It was very emotional,” said local resident Ellen Komesarook.

The chaotic election season was full of twists and turns, and now many are anxiously awaiting who the country will choose to lead the nation.

“This is a very sensitive moment. No one knows what happened tonight,” said Rudy, a tourist from Germany who came to Washington for the election.

There was certainly excitement among some voters, like Sonja Breda, a supporter of Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I mean, this is truly a historic nomination and I’m really excited to see her win tonight. The stakes couldn’t be higher. “I think the environment for women is about many different issues,” she said.

Rudy said he wonders who America will choose because the decision will affect his own country.

“I came specifically for the election because the election also affects us. This is Europe, this is Germany, this is the world, right? Ukrainian. “There are all the important issues that this election will somehow turn one way or another,” he said.

Komesarook said he thinks the country is ready to move forward, leaving behind the division he says stems from former President Donald Trump.

“I think eventually when this is over, I keep thinking we’re going to be okay. I think we have to turn this corner. We really have to. If we don’t turn this corner, I don’t think we’re going to have any hope. I mean, that’s my depression. If he doesn’t win,” he said.
