Evansville man arrested after speeding away from traffic stop

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – An Evansville man faces charges after authorities say he led them on a chase Monday night.

According to the press release, Indiana State Police troopers attempted to stop 31-year-old Kevin Moman when they saw him driving without a seatbelt near Covert Boulevard.

As troopers approached Moman’s vehicle, he sped away, he said.

Moman appears to have crashed into a ditch on Elmendorf Boulevard and then started running on foot, the statement said.

Moman was arrested after officers found him hiding in the 3700 block of Wagoner Avenue.

They say they found a small amount of suspected narcotics while searching Moman’s vehicle.

Further investigation revealed that he had an outstanding warrant out of Vanderburgh County for a petition to revoke his probation.

Moman was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail where he is currently being held without bail.

He faces the following charges:

  1. Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, Level 6 Felony
  2. Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Level 6 Felony
  3. Driving While Suspended, Class A Misdemeanor
  4. Extraordinary Warrant (Vanderburgh County)
